Bloganuary 6: Why Do You Write?

There are several reasons I could list for why I write. And not just write, but LOVE to write. Writing can be a therapeutic process. There are so many avenues writing can take you. whether it's journalism, screenwriting, poetry, or being a novelist, the options are endless. And for a lot of people, it is their coping mechanism or way or relieving their stress.

My love for writing stemmed from my love of reading. I also have an active imagination that lends me the ability to see things, not just as they are, but how they could be. Having the talent to tell a story and make someone feel like they were right there or that it is a real-life situation is something I have been told I'm great at doing. Mastering the art of putting it on paper and releasing it for public consumption gave me anxiety at one point. But now, I am nervously ready to hear what others thing every time I do so.

I'm not as well-known as I'd like to be, but I feel like it will come when it should. So I won't rush for the "big break". In the meantime, I'm going to continue to hone in my skills and put out good content until someone feels like it's GREAT.

For any of my writers reading this, why do you write?
